I feel as an adult I've been quite fortunate with my skin. I rarely get breakouts and if I do, it tends to be related either to my time of the month or stress. This makes it easy for me to manage as I can pinpoint when I am going to get a breakout and try my best to preemptively strike. This was a different story when I was younger when I had painful cystic acne all over my face and on my chest. I very rarely use actual products used to target acne but when Wishtrend gave me the chance to try their By Wishtrend TECA 1% Barrier Cream I jumped at the opportunity to try something that may be effective in keeping my breakouts at bay.

I could say I've been lucky enough to test this product out on different kinds of spots to see how effective it is in different circumstances. But is it really lucky when your skin decides to keep bringing little presents up for ya? I'm gonna keep looking at the positives and get letting you guys know how the product reacts to different types of spots.

Just next to the corner of my mouth I got a tiny little spot with a nice white little head to it. Trying to keep my amount of acne scars down I did my best to refrain from bursting it. Instead, I took it as a perfect opportunity to give this product it's first little try. I applied a small amount evenly over the spot and the surrounding area. By the next day it had felt like the spot was drying itself out and shrinking in size. It took maybe about four days for the area of skin to return to it's usual level thanks to the spot reducing down in size. While there is still a faint red mark that is gradually fading away, I feel better having treated the spot in this manner instead of just getting my fingers out and popping it.

Not long after the spot next to my mouth went away, I had a feeling of pressure under my mouth right in the centre. I looked in the mirror and noticed that the skin here was red and a small bump was beginning to form. I got my skincare done and applied this straight onto it. I wasn't sure how my skin would react to it with it being a spot that had not yet reached the surface but I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The spot never came to a full head nor did it fully go over the surface of the skin. The size of the area of pressure decreased within a couple of days and the tiny little bump that was there went back down very quickly.

One day a spot decided to pop up and say hello and I get the feeling I must have scratched it in my sleep, causing the spot to ~burst~ and cause a break in the skin. This is the type I find the hardest to get the colour and damaged reduced and these usually scar. After a couple of days of use, the overall area looked improved with only faint redness and the scab that came over it healed up. I also noticed the area didn't actually become deeply scarred afterwards as well.

This is a soft, relatively thick gel like product that glides onto the skin with ease and absorbs into the skin quickly with no greasy residue remaining. You only need to use a tiny tiny amount to get enough for the product to be effective on singular spots. If you suffer from all over acne you may benefit more from applying a large amount all over your skin to help them heal and become less flared. One of the things I look for in skincare products when I've got a hormonal breakout is that they will work well with my hypersensitive skin (a regular occurrence during my period) so if they sting, they're a no go. However, this product didn't sting at all and actually made my skin feel less painful and provided some relief to the skin.

O V E R A L L

I have had a fantastic experience with this product and I've been glad to see it has performed well on my skin in various different scenarios when it comes to my acne. A product I intend on repurchasing when I use it up. It is a little pricier than products that I normally buy, however, I do think it is genuinely worth it and I feel incredibly fortunate for Wishtrend for gifting me with this.  Definitely recommended for those that suffer from regular outbreaks or even just hormonal ones.
