I'm sadly very far from blessed with perfect skin. While my skin condition has changed over the years, the one thing that has remained a consistency with it, is the fact I suffer from hormonal acne and scar quite easily from said acne breakouts. I have a mixture of deep set "pick axe" type scars and I also have some darkened skin level scars as well, these are more noticable on my chin area, where I'm most likely to get a breakout. Because of this, I'm always on the lookout for products that can help reduce these markings.
This product was sent to me by Skinsider for purposes of trial and review.
ULTIMATE-RADIANCE-AND-NATURAL-GLOW
Introducing Urang, formerly Holi Aroma, a Korean beauty brand focusing on giving you natural skincare combining natural ingredients with the founding owner, Jina Lee's knowledge of aromatherapy. Aiming to bring you skincare that is safe for all skin types and for any age that is both effective and good for your skin.
Today, I am going to be talking about one of their serums, namely the Whitening Blue Oil Serum.
P A C K A G I N G
The packaging of both sizes of the product are both so minimal and gorgeous. The 15ml version that I have here simply combines a glass container with a silver dropper. Letting the natural blue colour of the serum play the starring role in the aesthetic of the product. The 30ml version however comes in a rounded frosted glass bottle which is just as beautiful.
After cleansing and toning the skin, apply 1-2 drops of the serum to your skin by gently massaging it in. Alternatively, you can mix a few drops into your moisturiser as you are applying it for a slightly less oily finish. Along with being used as a skincare product, you can also mix a drop or two in with your BB Cream or foundation to give you a radiant glow.

Urang is shipped out to a selection of different stores all over the world, however, if you are UK based like myself, Skinsider is currently the only retailer here authorised to stock the Urang brand.

Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil, Tocopherol, (-)-alpha-bisabolol, **Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil.
Yep, that's it. Four Ingredients. The ingredients are kept to a minimum and due to the ingredients and the lack of animal testing, this product is also Vegan. The chamomilla flower oil in the serum is what gives it that gorgeous natural blue shade.
The serum itself is very lightweight and doesn't feel overly heavy on the skin when it is applied. Due to it being oil based though, it won't immediately absorb into the skin so you may want to wait a little after initial application before continuing on with any extra steps.
I find, personally, that I don't really need to use a moisturiser after applying as the oils do the job for me. Meaning my skincare routine can be narrowed down some nights to just cleanse, tone and serum. Which is perfect for me working late nights and needing to sleep early in order to wake up with my daughter. This is particularly the case in the summertime when I don't want to be putting a lot of different products on my skin

Due to this being a smaller size, I felt like giving the product a two week trial would be enough to give myself a good first impression of how my skin reacts and changes with use of this product.
For the first week, my skin was looking fantastic for the first few days and the acne scars I had were looking a lot lighter. However, my skin decided it was time for a hormonal breakout which brought even more acne to potentially scar my skin. I did initially worry that it was the product itself that was causing it but due to it being in the place I always get my hormonal acne, I ruled that out. Despite the breakout though, it's clear to see that a few of the acne scars that were previously there have diminished in colour and weren't as visible.
My skin broke out AGAIN this week, most likely due to stress and a lack of sleep. It could also be contributed to the amount of alcohol I had at the weekend as well, as that's usually another trigger for my skin breaking out. So it wasn't easy to see a full difference in my skin. There are a few of the smaller scars that aren't as visible in comparison to the previous week which shows me the product is still working its magic.
V E R D I C T
+ Visibly Lightened Acne Scars // Despite the acne breakouts, I could still tell that there was a visible change to my skin.
+ Smells absolutely gorgeous // The serum has such a delicate floral scent to it.
+ Multi-Use // Can be used in a small variety of ways depending on your skin needs.
+ Moisturised My Skin // While intending on just whitening the skin, the serum also helped keep my skin moisturised without the need for an extra moisturiser on top of it.
+ Little Bottle Goes A Long Way // Over these two weeks I used the serum once a day in the evening with the occasional day using it in the morning. I still have 2//3-3/4 left of the bottle. Given this, the 15ml would manage to last you about 4-8 weeks if not more depending on how often you actually feel like you need to use it.
- A Little Pricey // This is just a personal view. I can see why it is the price given due to how effective and and highly quality the ingredients contained are, however, for me it's a little out of my normal price range for skincare. However, this wouldn't stop me from purchasing it as a treat every so often and I think next time I would go for the larger bottle of it for longevity purposes.
This little bottle packs a lot in it and if you're like me and suffer from acne breakouts whether they are hormonal or otherwise, I recommend adding this into your skincare routine to try and help you lighten the appearance of them and improve your skins overall texture. This won't work for the likes of ice pick scars (which I also suffer from) but scarring that has discoloured the skin. I'm also now very intrigued and hopeful to eventually get round to trying a few more products from Urang again in the future.
Have you tried Urang's natural skincare before?

The idea of using oil to clean your face may seem a little intimidating or even a bit counterproductive, but it's highly beneficial. Oils help remove excess make up, skin debris and believe it or not, oils. I used to have incredibly oily skin but I have found in the past year or so that the type of skin I have has changed slightly. Even so, when my skin was oily, I found oils to be the most beneficial type of cleanser for me.

One thing that always grabs my attention with Klairs products is the packaging, it has this minimal, eco kind of aesthetic to it which gives an impression of natural beauty. The bottle is a high quality, sturdy plastic in an amber brown with a black slimline pump.
There is a small clip stopper underneath the pump which prevents it from leaking in transit to you, but it's also very handy to keep a hold of so you can take it with you in your skincare while travelling.

1. Take an adequate amount of Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil onto the palms of dry* hands
2. Gentle massage over dry face in order of forehead, nose and cheeks
3. After massaging, do not wipe off with a tissue but rinse with lukewarm water 2-3 times.
*It's incredibly important to make sure that your skin is dry on both your hands and your face, as not doing so will lead to the oil turning milky in texture and not getting the results intended.

Your first impressions of oils would be that of a greasy feeling and not something you would want near your skin. However, despite being an oil, you don't actually get that from it. It's a thin oil that feels very light on the skin. There's enough lubrication from it to massage your skin well with it, but not so much that you don't feel so clean after.

One thing that really makes using this product so enjoyable is the fact it just smells delightful. It has a very natural scent combining herbs and fruit. This has become a product I use as part of my morning routine, purely because I quite enjoy massaging my face to wake me up in the morning and the scent from this really helps and makes it a relaxing process for me. It may be a little strong for those with sensitive noses, but for me personally, it's a lovely little scent.

Double cleansing has become a more and more popular aspect to a skincare routine, usually using an oil based cleanser initially and a separate cleanser of a different formula as a follow up. This combination allows for your skin to get really clean but isn't always necessary to be done every single time you do your skincare. I only ever double cleanse in the evening if I have been wearing make up that day, as I don't want to over cleanse my face when it isn't necessary for it. So, the Klairs Cleansing Oil is used in this situation for me. I find it easily takes off face make up, lip make up (though not always the stronger tints in some cases) and eye make up. I have a few waterproof mascaras that I find it lifts well, if anything on occasion I might have to cleanse the eye area twice to fully remove some of it.

I've been so impressed with this cleanser and is definitely one of the top oil cleansers I've used out of both Western and Korean branded ones. It does the job it's set out to do, gently cleanses your face while removing make up. I've found over my testing period of using this, that it's improved my skin texture slightly. My skin has more of an overall glow, especially to the cheek area, it just feels like my whole face is glowing with kind of minimal effort in a way.
Would I recommend this to my readers? Of course! If you're a little apprehensive about trying out oil on your skin, this may help you ease into them as it's so mild and gentle on the skin and once cleaned away, it doesn't leave any stickiness or residue. I'm definitely going to be buying a new one when I get this one finished as I'm 2/3 of the way through the bottle already!
This cleansing oil can be purchased from Skinsider for £21 here. If you happen to spend an extra £9 on the store (stock up on some sheet masks for yourself!), you will get free express delivery in the UK.
Let me know your favourite Klairs product below!

Finding a good toner can be a bit of a struggle, in my own experience a lot of the ones I have used have ended up drying my skin more than it was before, however this one claims to help your skin hold moisture for more than 48 hours. This is a very light and refreshing toner that is coupled with a soft and gentle scent to it. The consistency is that of typical toners, a thin liquid and is very cooling on the skin. Making it an ideal toner to use when your skin is feeling on the hot side for whatever reason
As implied, the toner didn't do any drying of my skin and actually managed to add some more moisture to it after using my cleanser. Which is a complete bonus and not something I see often! It helped my skin look brighter and provided for a good base for the rest of my skin care routine to be applied to.

Dr. G Aquasis Water Soothing Gel Cream
Along with the previous product in the line, this moisturiser aims to help your skin retain it's moisture levels for over 48 hours.
Now this is a thick gel type moisturiser and this is only a good thing in my eyes as my skin, particularly in the winter, needs something a little bit more robust in order for it to feel properly moisturised. A little goes a long way and it applies to the skin so smoothly and absorbs within good time. Following immediate use my skin felt velvety soft and just looked like it had been given a good kick of moisture into it. After using at night, my skin still remained incredibly soft and looked healthy, looking like it didn't actually need to be moisturised again. This seemed to remain with the regular use of this product, making it an ideal product for those who want a moisturiser that will truly moisturise and give you supple looking skin.

Sometimes I find gel type mositurisers can leave the skin feeling a bit tight and dry, however, there is absolutely no issue here with this product and it's just an all round good product. This is one I am definitely considering purchasing a full sized version of as the price is fairly reasonable for the actual results it gives.

This is a product I've seen doing the rounds not only in the Kbeauty community, but in the beauty/skincare community as well and one that is highly raved out. I'm always anxious about trying out hyped up products but I'm always up for trying anything. Peeling gels are such a fascinating and enjoyable product to use and I love when you massage them into the skin how the dead skin cells attach onto the product making little clumps. It's so so satisfying to do and I could easily do it everyday.
Upon first use, I found this product had quite a strong scent to it, one that reminds me a little of witch hazel if I am honest. A pleasant scent, but still one that is on the strong side. This has a nice consistency to it, not too thick and not too thin. I typically apply a thin layer all over my face onto dry skin and spend 1-2 minutes massaging it gently or until there are no more new clumps forming when you are rubbing it in. The result of this was a gentle exfoliation that left my skin looking a lot smoother and feeling softer. Having used more abrasive type gels in the past for this kind of thing, I think the mild versions are much more beneficial to me in the long run.

Here's a little before and after (this is completely unedited as to show an accurate result. I did however apply a tinted lip balm in the second image) so you can see the appearance of it on my skin. I find the application to be light-medium and the finish one that is half matte/dewy. It covered up my redness well while brightening up my overall complexion. Of course, you can still see my deeper ice pick scars but I never expect make up to cover these, however some of my more shallow ones are less visible. One thing that lets me know the coverage is natural is that it doesn't hide my beauty spots!
It's a little more expensive than my usual BB Creams I go for, but I feel like it would be one I would buy in order to have one that had a very natural finish to it rather than full coverage.

I'll be honest here, this is a product that has been on my lust list for the longest time and I'm so so thankful I have been given a chance to sample it out! My main reason for not buying it yet is that it is way way out of my price range but being able to try a sample of it allows me the chance to try it out and see if I feel like it is worth that price tag. This was definitely my most anticipated product while I was waiting for the package to be delivered.
The product comes out of a little dropper and is a clear liquid with a soft, gentle floral scent that seems to primarily come from the jasmine oil within the ingredients. The inclusion of this could cause a reaction to those with sensitive skin but it's all a matter of knowing your skin and how it reacts to certain oils and fragrances It's a quite a light serum that still has some viscosity to it. It is spread over the skin with ease and does take a little bit of time to absorb into the skin. However, when it is fully absorbed, your skin is met with a boost of moisture and just feels and looks more healthy. Like, it came as a surprise how much this serum could make such a difference to the appearance of my skin!
I've had a good few uses out of this sample size, and I have been using it sparingly in order to try and get the most out of it and it's safe to say I might end up splurging on the full sized version somepoint or another. I feel like it could definitely be a product that could benefit my skin in the long run and be worth the price in the end. It's also made me want to try out some of the sheet masks that the brand has on offer as well to see if they work as well as the serum does.

Thank you again to Karolina from Skinsider for offering to send me these samples, I've been extremely impressed with the standard and it's clear to see why she chooses to stock them on the store. I will definitely be making full sized purchases of the moisturiser and the serum when I have the spare money sitting around to get them. The other products are on a maybe list of potential products I will buy!
