Mask Monday is back (finally)! 

My little weekly feature where I share with you all some of the masks I have tried whether it be sheet mask, was off mask, peel off, hair mask or whatever kind of mask I get my hands on! Though, let's be honest, 99% of them tend to be sheet masks! Today's one is a super cute one

The sheet mask featured in this post was gifted to me by Mask Time in one of the monthly boxes. 

Holika Holika Essence Jelly Mask - Sweet Peko Edition // Strawberry

I've yet to use a product from Holika Holika before but I've heard a mixture of opinions when it comes to both their skincare and makeup. So, a good place to start might be with their skincare and sheet masks are usually the most affordable aspect of a brand's skincare range. Last year, Holikax2 did a collaboration with Fujiya Milky Candy and their mascot Peko for a range of adorably packaged products. The brand itself is highly popular in Japan and I've actually tried the Matcha version of the sweets and loved them (thanks Ellis!!). So this collab appealed to both fans of the brand and those who enjoy collecting adorable packaging. I highly appreciate how the actual packet looks like the sweet bags!

Scent & Essence // THIS DID NOT SMELL LIKE STRAWBERRIES!!! Which disappointed me greatly. Being infused with strawberry extract, I was hoping for a strawberry scent, however, it ended up being more citrus/slightly herbal (?) which was a little disappointing. There is a TONNE of the essence in this package though, there's definitely enough to either keep the excess in a pot to use for a few days or apply on your body. It has a water jelly type texture, which is quite refreshing and gives the impression it's going to be very moisturising.

Fit & Material // As with a lot of novelty character masks, this mask has Peko-chan's face making up the design of the entire mask. A little creepy, sure. But cute all the same. Though my daughter ended up finding it a bit scary on me. It was a little big for my face particularly the bottom half of it, so I had to do a lot of pulling about to make it sit and fit onto my face properly. The actual mask itself is quite thick and sturdy and feels woven.

Overall // I used this for 20 minutes following a double cleanse and tone. 
Initially, my skin appeared brighter and thoroughly moisturised. It felt supple and overall just felt really soft. The mask left a lot of essence on my face so I had to massage it in for a little bit to make sure my skin just didn't have a thick layer sitting on the skin and so that it could be absorbed faster. There was a little stickiness left afterwards that took maybe half an hour or so to go away, but this isn't too much of a big issue because it wasn't dramatically sticky. This was generally a very well performing mask, doing as it says and doing it well.

Repurchase? Since this was limited edition, I know this won't be around for all too long, so I may buy one or two more but I'm probably going to go ahead and try some of Holika Holika's other sheet masks along with their make up.

I have all the nourishing, brightening, firming and vitalising sheet masks in my stockpile. However, one type that seems to be ignored by me when it comes to masks, are ones used to treat acne. While of course, one use isn't going to magically take the acne away, it can help diminish the appearance of them either by reducing the size or the redness. So, today I decided to try out the AooL Pore & Spot Care Mask. AooL is a brand that is owned by Shinan Cosmetics and the brand's main focus is skincare, having a line of 5 different sheet masks to be able to be used daily depending on your skin condition, with this one being acne fighting.

My main hopes for this mask is for it to hopefully reduce the pigmentation of some of the larger spots of my current breakout while also helping old acne scars fade. The mask claims do these things while also helping you nourish the skin in the process.

I actually found this mask a little too big for my face, which tends to be quite rare as they are mostly generally well fitting. This one had to be pulled about a bit to help me make it have as much of the surface area on my skin and not folded over itself. It was however very comfortable and for being quite thick, didn't feel all that heavy nor slip. The scent was quite medicinal but not overpowering. The mask is to be left on for 10-20 after cleansing and toning as per usual and then removed with the remaining essence being patted into the skin.

After removal, I noticed my face was soaked in essence as was the mask. So I massaged the essence into my face and neck while taking the sheet mask and rubbing it on my chest as I've been suffering from some chest acne lately. I gave myself some time to allow the essence to actually absorb into my skin before giving my thoughts on how my skin looked and felt afterwards. There was no stickiness left afterwards, my skin felt smooth and soft and definitely moisturised. The redness in the largest spot on my face looked a lot less red and painful than before but was still raised (probably due to there still being fluid inside). Along with this, my skin looked super bright!

It's always exciting to try new brands but from what I've been able to research as much as I could, it seems AooL is now ShionLe, which was launched this year and are actually using Astro (ya girl loves Eunwoo ♡) as their models for the brand, so while it might not be possible to find this mask as Aool, it can be found under ShionLe. They sell the same masks that they did as AooL and they can be purchased in boxes of either one type or a mixture.

I'll definitely be purchasing this mask again and some of the other versions of them as I was actually spending some time looking at ShionLe's products and these were one of the things that caught my eye! So if you need something to help you with your acne on those really bad days, this may be the one to go for!

Anyone else manage to accumulate a massive amount of sheet masks to the point you don't think you're ever going to be able to get through all of them? I'm currently finding myself in that position but I'm aiming to work through them over the next few months to at least reduce my pile down! Today I'm going to be sharing a little review on the Skinfood Beauty In a Food Mask Sheet in my most favourite ever scent/flavour of anything ever, watermelon. I love the scent of watermelon, even if it's that artificial one, it still smells the best to me and is super refreshing. Plus the actual fruit is delicious.

 As per usual with a sheet mask, after washing your face you apply the mask evenly to your face and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. I usually end up leaving the mask on for the full 20 minutes to get the most out of it. This particular mask fits very well to my face, there are a couple of slits, namely along the jaw and the inner corners of the eyes just to make it easier to adapt the mask a little to suit your face shape and feature aligning. This made it super comfortable to wear and I suffered from no slippage while upright. It has a moderate scent of watermelon without being too much, it's a little on the artificial smelling side but at the same time, also smells quite like an actual watermelon.



There is the perfect amount of essence in the package and it's not too moist to the point that it drips everywhere but there's enough to rub down into your neck to moisturise it.

Unfortunately, my experience with this mask has not been a good one. After taking the mask off, my skin was very red and blotchy and suddenly burning and felt hot to touch. It was just so painful and tight and just didn't look good. It didn't feel remotely nourished and felt drier than it was before I did the mask if anything. Wasn't what I was expecting from the mask at all. I don't normally react to sheet masks or any kind of skincare as my skin is pretty resilient to ingredients and isn't sensitive for the majority of the time. The mask was also manufactured this year as well, so it's not like it was expired or anything. It just didn't work well. That's not to say you will have the same reaction, but this is the honest experience I had with it.

I'm a little bummed. I really like Skinfood as a brand and have loved their skincare and make up for years, so for my first experience with their sheet masks to be like this is a little discouraging. However, I'm not going to write the masks off completely and will possibly give this particular mask or the other versions of it a try again in the future and see if my skin reacts the same then too. It may just be a case of the fact I changed my hormonal contraception this week and it may just be a hormonal difference causing my skin to react in such a way, or it could just be that this mask in particular just doesn't agree with me, sadly.

  Mask Monday isn't just for sheet masks! Today, I'm bringing you a little review of the eyenlip Gold & Snail Hydrogel Eye Patch. Our eyes tend to be something that we either forget about or just don't give that much attention. With the skin being so delicate, we need to take extra gentle care of them to keep the skin hydrated and looking bright. I suffer from dark deepset eyebags, something that I have had to deal with since I was a teenager. So I understand that a product isn't going to magically take that away, however, I know that the appearance of them can be at least temporarily physically improved, so that's where these little gold beauties step in.
This post is in part of a series of posts about eyenlip where I have received a variety of products to try out and in return, review here on my blog for my readers to discover. All opinions are my own however.
A B O U T  E Y E N L I P 
Eyenlip was launched in 2017 by the founders of beautynetkorea, a stockist and seller of a large variety of Korean beauty brands. They also have their own eBay page where they sell the same items under the username f2plus1 (which is one of my most used and trusted stores on the site). Over the past year or so the brand coming to be, they have been gradually building their repertoire of skincare and makeup products. With the aim of making their products affordable and easily accessible, targeting a number of different concerns.
C L A I M  A N D  I N S T R U C T I O N S
The combination of the snail mucin and the gold aims to firm and moisturise the skin while also reducing the dullness of the skin around the eyes. The patches also hope to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Once you have cleaned your face and toned it after, take out two patches and apply to the eye area. Depending on the skin around your eyes, it's best to have the larger rounded end go under your tear duct. However, if the skin at the sides of your eyes is more of an issue its easy enough to wear the gel patch the other way. Leave the patches on for 20-40 minutes and after removal, pat the remaining essence into the skin very gently.

The product comes in a simple little tub with a green lid adorned with a ring of flowers. 
Opening the lid of the tub, you are greeted with an insert of a white lid. This stops the essence within from leaking out while also standing as a holder for the little tweezers included to make it so much easier to get each individual hydrogel patch out.

The tweezers manage to get a good grip of the patches despite how slippery they are.

The patches themselves, as expected, are a gorgeous shade of gold. With little flecks of glitter to make them just that little prettier.
M Y  E X P E R I E N C E 
I aimed to use these patches 1-2 times a week to see if it made a difference to the appearance of the skin under my eyes. After each use, the skin underneath my eyes definitely felt a lot more moisturised and looked a little brighter. Nothing stunningly different, but enough for me to see a change. I think with my regular use I may have seen a bigger difference to how dark my under eyes are. As you get 60 in a pack, it might be worthwhile using them daily for a month to see if an overall difference is more apparent. However, I just used these on days I had been getting that much sleep and needed to look a little more alive.
The patches themselves are so pretty and lightweight, however, I had problems with them sliding down my face even when I was sitting quite stationary. So I could only use them effectively while lying down on my back. Which gave me an excuse to just lay down and chill on my bed and play about on my phone or Switch! 
Overall, I think these are a good little product, but I think they need regular use to become properly effective for the skin under the eyes. They are very affordable if bought directly through BeautyNetKorea. However, if you are to purchase elsewhere, expect to pay the full non-sale price. I would be quite interested in trying out the other types of the gel patch to see if they have a better effect on my eyes than these. But the main thing I took from these is that they helped me give the skin under my eyes the attention it so desperately needed and a boost of moisture, making it easier to apply make up on the area.

Dear Klairs is continually growing as a brand that I'm loving and enjoying. One product I've been eyeing up for the longest time is the Midnight Blue Calming Cream, but it's just something I've not gotten around to picking up yet. Luckily for me, Dear Klairs released a sheet mask version of the product, which lets me have a little try out to see if it's going to be worth spending the cost on the cream. I was sent these by Wishtrend after taking part in their Cruelty Free Week, however, wasn't obliged to review them. This post however does contain an affiliate link. It's also not a Monday as you can see (I missed a day...oops) so we have a Mask Monday/Tuesday here for you guys.
This mask aims to purify and unclog pores with the use of white willow bark extract, which very gently exfoliates the skin to remove excess sebum. Erythritol (an alcohol sugar) which targets the temperature of the skin to cool it down. 
I recently suffered quite a bad hormonal breakout along my chin that was painful as a constant. So this seemed like the perfect time to give the sheet mask a try to see if it could help combat this issue.
I N S T R U C T I O N S
After cleansing, pull out the mask from the pouch and unfold carefully. Evenly place the mask over the entire face, adjust the upper part to the eyes and the lower part to the mouth. After 15-20 minutes, remove the mask and gently pay the remaining essence into the skin. 
Optional: After removing the mask, place the mask onto the neck for a few minutes.

There was a definite scent from the tea tree oil in the mask which is reassuring as it's one of the ingredients I would use if I had a breakout. There was minimal essence remaining in the pouch, which is great as I knew the majority of it was going to remain on the mask itself. It was a relatively thin essence in the mask too, thick enough to cling to cling to the mask and not thin enough so that it just drips everywhere. The cooling effect was nearly immediate and the skin on my face felt cool for a good while after use as well. ideal for when your skin just feels hot and painful when you have a breakout.
F I T  &  M A T E R I A L 
As suggested in the instructions, this sheet mask actually comes in two halves, one upper half and one lower. To me, this makes it a lot easier to make sure the mask actually fits to your face better since not all faces are same length and have features in the same positions. I found the mask fit to my face perfectly with very little adjusting necessary. The mask itself also has bamboo charcoal in the actual material itself, making it soft and comfortable to wear. 
R E S U L T 
After using this mask, my skin felt incredibly smooth to touch and nice and plump. The tightness seemed to have been taken away from the spots that I had on my face too. With the redness being greatly reduced. So the mask has done exactly what it claimed to want to do. I think after using this mask, I would definitely go out and try the actual cream form for any future breakouts but also keep a few of these on hand when I just want my whole face to feel a little bit less hot and sore.

Another Monday, another mask review! I love reviewing sheet masks and getting a collection of what masks worked for me and how they benefited my own skin in a way. It also helps others delve into the chaotic mayhem that is sheet masking and to figure out which ones to try. Today is one from Dear Packer and is part of their Jeju Flower range, containing a selection of 4 different floral essences. This one inparticular is their Cherry Blossom mask, which, as you probably know already is my favourite flower. I received this mask in the #BeMine box from Mask Time earlier this year
C L A I M    Containing cherry blossom extract, this mask aims to brighten and give your skin that 촉촉~ feeling. 
I N S T R U C T I O N S 
After cleansing and toning, apply the mask evenly to the face. Leave on for 15-25 minutes, remove mask and pat the remaining essence into the skin.

As expected from a floral mask, this mask has a strong scent of cherry blossoms. It's a little overpowering initially but your nose soon gets used to it. There is a lot of a thin essence in this packet, maybe a little too much. It was dripping all over the place and even after I took the mask off, there was still an amount dripping from it. Not the worst thing in the world, but made it a little bit messy to wear. 
F I T  A N D  M A T E R I A L 
I found this mask to fit reasonably well, however, it was a little small around the eyes so part of the mask was elevated at the outer corner of my eyes. However, it was still comfortable to wear. The material is made out of 100% pure cotton, which makes it super soft to wear. The thickness of the sheet is of an average thickness, if anything it's possibly a little bit thinner. It doesn't slide on the face and adheres to the skin well. 
R E S U L T
I found the mask did as it intended. My rather dull, dehydrated (thank you humidity) skin looked so much more vibrant than it was. I looked dewy and glowy, just overall healthy. My skin felt soft and made me look naturally bright. Despite there being a massive amount of essence in the packet, it didn't leave me feeling greasy after I had patted the product into my skin.
O V E R A L L
This is a mask I would definitely grab a few packets off whenever I get the chance. They're decently affordable and work very effectively. Plus it's cherry blossom themed, of course I want it again!

If you're new here to the blog, you may not be aware of my major love for sheet masks, I've been using them for the last 8 years in some shape or form and have tried a variety from Korea, Japan and Taiwan. They are something I usually use as a weekly treat for my skin to give it a little boost where it's needed. With there being such a wide variety of sheet masks to suit difference skin issues, you're spoiled for choice to decide which ones to add into your own regular routine. Sheet masks have been highly popularised along with the ever so viral 10 Step Korean Beauty Routine. Not everyone will follow this routine religiously if at all, but there are a number of people that do choose to use sheet masks on a daily basis or at least several times a week.Whether this is at night to give them that relaxing down time or in the morning to make the application of make up smoother or to look a bit fresher. 
Personally, I think the highest amount of sheet masks I have used in a week was three, it was a week of particularly dry skin in the winter and I felt like I constantly needed a little boost every few days to make sure my skin felt closer to it's regular texture. So to use one everyday is going to be a whole new experience for me. So for a week (it's actually 8 days as I realised there was an extra sheet mask given to me) I will be wearing a sheet mask at some point in the day and giving a little first impression on what the mask did for me. 

B E F O R E  W E  S T A R T 
I'm not going to detail the instructions for each of these masks. The general method when it comes to sheet masks is to use them after you have cleansed (regardless of whether you do single or double cleansing) and toned the skin, this is when you would apply the sheet mask. They are usually left on for 15-20 minutes with the occaisional mask (not within this post) are worn for a maximum of about 30-45 minutes. I've made the mistake the in the past of wearing the sheet masks for as long as possible to try and get the most out of it, but I learnt in the last few months that that is actually a very counter productive thing. As the mask can begin to absorb the essence back into it and leave your skin feeling drier than it should be. So make sure you don't leave your mask on for longer than intended. Of course, you may sometimes lose track of time or even fall asleep from time to time when wearing one, but try to refrain as much as you can.

M Y  S K I N   My skin is "impure" which is relatively normal at the same time. I suffer from redness in the nose area, rather large open pores. I also have a lot of acne scars on my forehead, jaw and cheeks as a result of cystic acne as a teen. Having grown up and been treated for it, I still however get hormonal breakouts around my lower chin. I find my skin manages to be quite resilient to most ingredients in skincare and don't tend to have any adverse reactions, however, I need to use products targeted for sensitive skin around my time of the month as my skin can become hypersensitive.    M O N D A Y

Dr. G Whitening Vita Mask
To start my week off, I found I wasn't necessarily needing any kind of treatment in particular but I noticed a little redness around my nose. So I chose the whitening mask in hopes that it would help reduce that.
Scent // The scent is so gentle and refreshing, a sweet combination of a floral and herbal scent.  Fit // Fits well aside from around the nose. Some of the material raises at the nose. It's not uncomfortable however. Material // It's a nice thick sheet. Comfortable against the skin. Essence // There is just enough essence for the mask to keep it all together and deliver it effectively to the skin. As mentioned, it smells so light and the essence is cool, making it feel refreshing on the face. Perfect for the hotter weather we have been having lately. Result // Upon removal the essence lingered for a long time but maintained that refreshing feel to it. It was nice and cooling and I could feel my skin being soothed as it soaked in. The redness around my nose had eased a lot and my skin felt plump and refreshed. 
T U E S D A Y 

Real Barrier Aqua Soothing Ampoule Mask
I actually almost forgot to sheet mask this night! I was busy getting some housework done and sorting out stuff for my daughters birthday next month when at half 10 I was like OH I GOTTA MASK. 
Scent // This sheet mask had a very strong scent of lavender to it. Not overbearing but very noticable.  Fit // The mask fit perfectly! The etches to make it fit on the bridge of the nose helped make it really fit to my face and the mouth-nose gap was perfectly fine too. Material // The material is on the thin-medium thickness for a sheet mask. It's a very smooth material and it adhered to the skin well. I was kinda shocked when I took it out of the white and pale blue packaging for it to actually be a sheet mask made out of a black material. First non-clear coloured sheet mask I have used in all honesty! Essence // Ampoule masks can sometimes have a slightly thicker consistency when it comes to the fluid but it was actually still quite close to your regular essence if only a little thicker. There was quite a lot of essence and it ended up dripping everywhere as I tried to unravel the mask.  Result // The mask worked fantastically. My skin had the ever famed glass skin effect to it and I just wanted it to stay there! My skin was nourished and looked so vibrant!

W E D N E S D A Y (well...Thursday Morning)

Dr. G Lock and More Nourishing Sheet Mask
So, I actually did skip the evening because my child didn't fall asleep until really late and I can't wear sheet masks when she's up and about because she will just pull it off my face. So I opted to do it first thing the next morning instead. I got a little bit of sunburn, not so much on my face but my face was a little dry from being out in the sun without sunscreen. I felt I needed to help it gain some of it's moisture back.
Scent // The scent of this mask was a lightly medical cosmetic kind of scent.  Fit // Like the other Dr. G mask, this one fit well. I had the same previous issue with there being a slightly raised piece of material over the bridge of the nose.  Material // The material was again, a nice thick mask. Not too heavy as to cause it to slide off the face but it felt soft and comfortable.  Essence // This one actually had a milky type essence to it and there was the perfect amount in the packet for the mask only. It actually absorbed into the skin from the mask in good time as well, leaving the mask not dripping still by the time I was done. Result // This was actually my first time doing a morning mask and the experience would leave me doing it again. It really brightened up my complexion and my skin just looked like it was moisturised and healthy. It felt smooth and plump and I found make up to apply easier after use.  Bonus // This is a vegan sheet mask! 
T H U R S D A Y (Night)

Abib Gummy Sheet Mask Heartleaf Sticker
Yay! My second sheet mask of the day, something I wouldn't ever normally do but I had to make sure I didn't fall behind. It was a good thing too, I had spent a lot of time cleaning and being around a lot of chemicals today so I needed something to prevent myself waking up with completely dried out skin. As I could feel it was already getting towards that stage. This mask aims to calm and deeply moisturise the skin and targets troubled skin. I've heard of others having this mask as their go to in skin emergencies so lets see how this one treats me! 
Scent // I really loved the scent of this mask, there was the scent of witch hazel combined with a lovely light citrus scent coming from the bergamont extract.  Fit // What is quite unique about this mask is the fact that it can actually be stretched in order to fit to your face. So after placing it on the skin, you can gently pull at it to make sure it fits your face well. This is such a great feature as some masks can be a little ill fitting. However, I didn't actually need to try this little feature out because it actually fit to the shape of my face perfectly as it is.  Material // The material was quite similar to standard sheet masks however, as the name may suggest, it's more "gummy" in it's form. This leads to it fitting to the face so well and adhereing to the skin strongly. I had a wee dance about to see how well it would stay on, and it did! Most masks would slight in some way, this one didn't. It aims to act like a second layer of skin and does a fab job of that.  Essence // There was actually a lot of essence in the packet, there was enough for me to use as a little extra in my morning skincare routine but it wasn't so much that it would cause the mask to drip all over me when taking it out.  Result // Following using this mask, the redness and dryness that was there went away completely and my skin just looked really healthy. It was well moisturised and felt like velvet to touch. Based on my experience with it on mostly untroubled skin I would really love to see how it would react to my skin if I had a breakout or the like. A mask I would consider buying in a set to make sure I always had some on hand if I really needed it.

Dr. G Wrinkle Snail Mask
This was a mask I ended up using very very late at night. Wrinkles aren't something I worry to much about (yet anyway) and I'm hoping since my mum is in her 40s and doesn't seem to have much issue with wrinkles, that the good genes will pass on. But I know the main premise of the mask is to add nourishment and aid elasticity of the skin. It's actually be about 5 years since I've used anything with snail extract on my skin as I feel it's not necessarily an ingredient that's needed for my own skin type currently. 
Scent // I found the scent of this one to be quite similar to the nourishing mask mentioned above.  I don't feel like I need to mention the fit and the material of this mask as I have described it before with the other Dr.G masks in the range. Essence // Essence was that of your typical sheet mask again, with the perfect amount to be absorbed by the mask and delivered to the skin.  Result // My skin actually felt quite soft and bouncy after using this mask and the essence absorbed into the skin quicker than the other masks I've used during this experiment. I didn't notice a lot of difference in appearance but rather in how the skin actually felt.

Atoclassic Real Tonic Perfect Treatment Mask
This was one mask I was leaving for towards the end, I was intrguied as to how this would perform as the black and rose gold packaging gave an impression of something of high quality so I was super, super excited to use this one.
Scent // As the brands focus is on herbal study, it's not surprise that this mask has a lovely herbal scent to it along with having a medicinal hint to it. Fit // The fit of the mask was moderately okay. I had a bit of a problem with the strip between the nose and mouth as it kept slipping. I don't know if this was just due to my lip shape and outward thickness. Material // The mask was thinner than some of the other ones I have used this week, but felt incredibly robust in how it was made.  Essence // The essence was so soothing and cooling on the face. There was a good amount and it was a clear consistency.  Result // As I had mentioned, part of me was using this mask to try and reduce a couple of random red marks on my skin (I actually don't know where exactly they came from but they were just there) and this managed to make them less visible. I've noticed as the week has gone on my skin just continues to glow, look healthy and have that ever so sought after ~glass skin~ effect without much more effort!

Dr. G Lock & More A-Clear Mask
This is the final mask of the 7 days of the week (however, as you'll see below I've inlcuded an extra little day!). I found for this mask, the sheet mask fit and material along with the scent was the same if not very similar to the other Dr.G masks mentioned in this post.
Result // I really feel like, as with the heartleaf mask that I need to actually have a breakout in order to see the benefit of this fully. However, my skin felt fantastic afterwards and my skin looked completely bright and vibrant! As this is also supposed to target large pores I didn't notice an initial difference but I feel possibly with several uses there might be a minimal change.
For my vegan gals and guys, this is going to possibly be the sheet mask you wanna grab when your skin is breaking out!
B O N U S  D A Y ( M O N D A Y )
Blossom Jeju Pink Camellia Soombi Marine Collagen Mask
I actually left this one until the very end as it was the one I was more excited to try. I've been so intrigued by Blossom Jeju for the longest time, but the brand being completely out of my usual price range, I've not been able to get around to purchasing their products. However, this is the second time I've been able to test one of their products thanks to Skinsider. This mask actually comes in two steps, first you apply pure camellia oil to the skin and follow up with applying the mask straight after. Scent // The initial oil that you apply smells...well like oil. A slightly floral but very neutral smelling oil. The sheet mask has a much stronger scent of flowers to it. Floral masks come next in line to fruity scented ones to me, so this was an overall pleasantly scented mask to me. Fit // This had to be one of the better fitting masks I've used in my time. The eye socket holes were a decent size, meaning that there was no overlap and I didn't have a problem with the nose area as I do with some others. Material // The mask is a nice thin and slightly see through sheet. Comfortable for wearing and not too heavy as to cause it to drop down on the face. Essence // The essence was light and smelt absolutely gorgeous. It felt like it really absorbed into the skin with the aid of the oil applied previously.  Result // I finally see why this mask is so widely raved about on instagram, and not just for how photogenic it is. After removing the mask and letting the essence absorb, I was so amazed by how my skin looked and felt! Was definitely a nice way to round off my week of masks with one of the best for last. I looked so vibrant and felt like if I did this one in the morning I would be able to out without make up and not worry!

T H E  A F T E R M A T H 
After a whole 8 days of sheetmasking, I found my skin to look the best it has in a long time. It looked bright and glowy, like I genuinely had glass skin! My skin felt incredibly supple to touch and just generally gave the impression of being all round healthy. I really wish I had taken before and after photos in order to see the difference that it made to my skin for you guys to see. But I know myself the change has been major!
I think my favourite sheet masks from the selection I was given were the Abib Gummy Sheet Mask and the Blossom Jeju one. These seemed to have had the biggest effect on my skin for the time and I would like to add them into my regular pile of masks to use. Along with those two, I'm intrigued to give the other variations of both brands' masks a try out and see if they work just as well. 

A G A I N ?
If you were to ask me if I was going to switch up my routine and do a sheet mask every single day, my honest answer would be a straightforward no. As much as I loved how my skin looked and felt during this week, the upkeep of this step in a routine would not only be costly for myself but also it doesn't fit so easily into my own lifestyle. Having a child leads to unpredictable nights and often being too exhausted to wait an extra 20 or so minutes before I can actually sleep. This is a dedication to skincare that is rather time consuming. However, if I was to do this again, I would only do it during my time of the month, during the winter or if I happen to have an event of some form that I am going to.
However, that is just my own view of it, I do encourage you to give this a go if you feel you are able to. Your skin will love you for it and you may find that this is a step that you can dedicate yourself to in the long run. Just try for a few days and see how your skin reacts to it. I would also recommend you guys try any of the masks mentioned in this post, all of them worked well and while I couldn't see the effect of some of them due to lack of appointed trouble, I still really enjoyed using the masks and seeing the results from them.

Here's a brand I've been wanting to try for a good long time. Though I've been highly interested moreso in the make up products they have, sometimes trying out a sheet mask can be a good, affordable way to get a little first impression of a brands performance. 16Brand (Sixteen) is one of four beauty brands created by first gen Korean makeup Cho Sungah (I remember fondly watching her videos when I first started getting into K-beauty!). Her lines vary in their target audience and this brand in particular is targeted towards teens and those who like to see their make up as colourful and fun. This appeals to me widely as my make up is generally on the bright and healthy looking side. As with most K-beauty brands, there is a whole line of sheet masks from 16Brand and this one here is the Hibiscus Tea sheet mask from the Garden Toks range. 
K E Y  I N G R E D I E N T S Peppermint extract, sage leaf extract, hibiscus extract, lavender extract, jasmine extract, green tea extract and black tea complex
C L A I M  This mask aims to revitalise and soothe the skin.
I N S T R U C T I O N S After washing and toning the skin, apply the mask evenly to the face, leave for 10-20 minutes, remove and gently pat the excess into the skin. 
S C E N T  A N D  E S S E N C E  Immediately after applying, I'm greeted with a sweet floral, earthy scent. It's not overbearingly sweet but has a very natural fragrance to it. The essence has a good viscosity to it, not too thick and not too thin. It seems to grab onto the mask and not want to stay in the packaging, which prevents you dripping all over the place trying to get it out of the packet. 
M A T E R I A L  A N D  F I T  The material is quite thick, a sturdy mask I would say. It feels like it wouldn't rip all to easy if you happened to pull at the wrong part of the mask while trying to unfold. It feels comfortable on the skin and doesn't slide down while upright. For me, the mask fits perfectly, if anything there may be a slight raised area on the bridge of my nose in between my eyes but it's only minimal and easily fixed. 
R E S U L T My skin felt and looked so much more vibrant than it was. It even seemed to help brighten up my under eye area and giving it a moisture boost. It took a while for the essence to dry fully, but I expect this with most masks in all honesty. There was only a slight tackiness left over. 
O V E R A L L  This was a lovely little mask to use. The scent was gentle, the essence was refreshing and the result was as expected from the mask. 
R E P U R C H A S E ? I definitely would get an buy another one of these, however I'm intruiged to try the whole range out. So it might be a case of buying a whole bundle. So then I have a mask for every kind of occasion! I'm also even more keen to try their make up products after this performing so well for me.

You ever buy something purely because it fits in with the whole ~aesthetic~ of your blog? Well, that's exactly what I've done here with this sheet mask. It's pink and mint and cherry blossom, the main things that seem to make up the appearance I am known for. It's also been a little while since I've taken part in Mask Monday, or even used any sort of face mask for that matter. I've actually been under a lot of stress lately, but it's thankfully not showing through my skin. But it's still relieving for me to take the time to take care of my appearance even just for a little while during the week. 
So, this week we have the Missha Cherry Blossom Something Sheet Mask. The perfect mask for the spring time. This comes as one part of a range of body care products, with the rest of the range revolving around shower gel, body lotion and the like. I actually learnt more recently that it is a range that was only available for a limited amount of time, so you may be a bit stretched to find one of these. There are a few eBay sellers that will still have some in their stock though. Missha was actually my first K-beauty brand and the first brand I tried sheet masks from but it has been a good 5 years since I've used any from them so I'm interested to see how they perform now.

After cleansing and toning, apply the mask evenly to the face and keep on for 15-20 minutes. After removal, pat remaining essence into the skin for further effect. 


S C E N T  A N D  E S S E N C E 
Well it definitely has a strong strong scent of cherry blossom flowers, the scent actually remained while I wore the mask, so if you're sensitive to fragrances this may not be the most ideal one for you. I found it pleasant and actually quite relaxing. There was a huge amount of essence in this mask. I probably had enough to empty into a small bottle had I thought of doing so. When I removed the mask there was a thick layer still on my skin and when I squeezed the mask I had a whole full handful, though there was probably more really and there was still some remaining in the packaging. The thickness of the essence was that of your typical mask and was very cooling and relaxing on the skin.
F I T  A N D  M A T E R I A L
I found this sheet mask was a little big on the bottom half, however, it was easily positioned to fit comfortably to my face's form. It's a pure cotton sheet mask, so has a good thickness to it without being too heavy on the face. I managed to sit upright without any issue of it sliding off my face. 
R E S U L T
Honestly? This mask didn't do a massive amount. It took a long time for all of the essence to soak into my skin and when it did my skin felt softer and looked a little bit more vibrant. However, it wasn't much to write home about. However, the amount of essence came as a bit of a bonus, as it made a great base for me to do some dermarolling. 


O V E R A L L
A gorgeous smelling mask with that #aesthetic packaging, would be an okay mask for daily use as the change in the skin isn't massive. Definitely wouldn't be one of my go-to masks for brightening. It's not the best and not the worst, it's quite an "eh..." mask. So I probably wouldn't end up purchasing another one! However, if I can manage to get my hands on the other stuff int he range that would make me quite a happy bunny.

Mask Monday is officially back for 2018! I took a bit of a break due to well...me kinda slacking when it comes to my skincare and just not finding the ~me time~ I so desperately need. I'm hoping to do this as regularly as I can but I can't promise it will be an occurrence every single week (that can maybe be a goal for next year?). Today I have one of the mask's I received in my Be Mine box from Mask Time. The box featured a selection of pink coloured sheet masks and out of a random pick, I decided to first try out the It's Skin Color Solution Pink Mud Sheet Mask. Rather intruiged by how a mask combining a sheet with clay was going to work out, I went ahead and tested it out. Let's see how I got on with it. 

I've been meaning to try a lot more brands when it comes to my sheet masks, there are one or two brands who's affordable sheet masks I will always return to due to affordability and effectiveness (Etude House, Innisfree and A'pieu mainly). But I want to try more, try and find my holy grail masks that I can turn to whenever I have a skincare need that needs a little maintenance. Today I have one from a brand that I have been wanting to try for a while and I actually got this as a little bonus gift from a giveaway I won ran by BOXNIP. I was quite thankful for this as it lets me get a little preview of the brands masks performance before I go and buy. 

This weeks mask is a little different to my usual facial ones in that this is one specifically for your lips. I suffer from dry lips all year round but they get considerably worse when it comes to winter time, so I've been thinking lately I need to give them a little bit more TLC than they have been getting. I've seen these about in the K-beauty community for years but for some reason never got round to buying them. But lately while I was searching for some new beauty products to try I decided to give them a go and my god I had a lot to choose from as most of the Korean brands have their own version of these masks. I opted for the Skinfood Pomegranate Collagen Lip Mask because one, I absolutely love pomegranate (it's my #1 favourite fruit ever) and I feel like I haven't tried enough of Skinfood's skincare products. So it seemed ideal for me to pick these up.
